Borough = YUM

Hey hey hey!

So yesterday, we went to Borough Market. A.K.A delicious food every where you turn! Borough was so fun. So colorful, fun people everywhere, and the yummiest tasting food! We were all told to try the grilled cheese there because it was apparently amazing. At first i was like, really? grilled cheese? I can make a grilled cheese just fine at home... but boy was a wrong! This is no ordinary grilled cheese. It is a delicious, extra cheesy, pure goodness grilled cheese. They also had the thickest, richest, hot chocolate that my mom would have loved. And berries. The freshest berries ever! They were sweeter than candy. So, moral of the story is, i will be seeing lots of borough market while i'm here.

So yesterday we also went to the TATE Modern for our first site assignment! We were to choose our favorite and least favorite pieces of art and write about it. I didn't think i was a huge fan of Modern art but i actually really enjoyed this museum! Madeleine and I are definitely planning to go see the TATE Britain asap!

After the museum our professors sent us on a walk along the Thames river. It was soooo cold and rainy! I'm realizing now that no matter how many times i sing "rain rain go away" it will not stop raining. Oh well! I'm in London! So on our walk i saw so many things i want to go back and explore. But, we had to hurry back to the centre to turn in our assignments.

Later we went and got Thai food at a place called Tuk Tuk Thai. We were told by many to try this place, so a bunch of us went! The food was deleciously delicious, but we had a horrifying waitress, who i decided looked like one of the Huns from Mulan. Yikes! After Thai food, to Madeleine's satisfaction we went and saw Avengers with some people in the group! We just couldn't pass up an opportunity to make all our friends in America jealous by seeing it early. And yes, be jealous. It was AWESOME.

Today we got to go to church in the Britannia singles ward! It was great. And let me tell ya, it is much easier to pay attention to the talks when the speaker has a nice british accent.... ha! Next week we are getting callings and will be assigned to different wards in the area. I can't wait to get my calling! I'm not gonna lie, i'm hoping for primary. Little british kids? Yes please.

Borough Market!

the famous grilled cheese!

Nuts of all kinds. Yu-um!

Thai food at Tuk Tuk

So that's that! Next week is JAM PACKED.
Just wait until you hear all the cool stuff i'm gonna do!

Loving Life in London!

HELLO! Okay so first off, i love the London Centre. BYU is so cool for owning this place. Although i am across the world from my house, the London Centre feels rather home-y! It is gorgeous. And by the end of my stay here i will have buns of steel from going up 3+ flights of stairs every time i want to go to my bedroom, as well as a permanent goose egg on my head from hitting it every time i sit up in my bunk bed. The professors are great and the cook makes delicious food! The group is so much fun too. I'm starting to get to know some people, and at least know everyone in the group by name. I can tell we're all going to be the best of friends pretty dang quick.

Sooooo i've already done so much since i've been here that it feels like i have been here way longer than just three days! But that's what makes it so great right? Our professors have every day pretty jam packed with stuff to do. It's awesome. And when there isn't something scheduled, it's too hard to resist to not go out and explore. I'm glad i'm stayin here for a while because there is just so much i want to do, and see. and EAT.

So yesterday we got up and had a little orientation and introduction to classes. What? Classes? Oh yeah.... i'm going to school here too! haha i kinda forgot that part, and was totally overwhelmed after hearing our professors spiels about their classes. But its all good! I've just come to accept the fact that sleep and I won't be good friends these next few months. So after classes we were off to St. Pauls Cathedral! It was AWESOME! First off all, its where "feed the birds" happens in Mary Poppins, and second of all, it was so beautiful inside and out! We climbed 528 stairs to the very tip top and whoa baby it was so cool! We also had a pretty sweet tour guide named Vivian who taught me so much about the cathedral i couldn't fit it all in my head.

Today we went to, drum roll please... the Tower of London!!! It was super neat. It is crazy how old that thing is! We also saw the crown jewels, can you say BLING? After seeing the tower our professors took us on a walk. We walked the perimeter of "Londinium" the old roman city. It was cool because there are still random chunks of the wall left even after all these hundreds of years! Our walk led us to the wonderful Museum of London which we got to explore for a while. I love love love learning about this place!

 St. Pauls Cathedral. So gorgeous!!

Mary Poppins Stairs. Sadly i didn't have any food to feed to the birds.

528 stairs in a tiny enclosed space does straaaaaaange things to ya.

But the view from the top is SO worth it!

Tower of London. With my cous!

Some groupies

Saw one of these dudes for the first time! I guess i'm not as funny
as i thought because he didn't laugh at me...

the Tower Bridge!

So basically, I LOVE LONDON! I am so excited to wake up in the morning. And every morning. Cheers!

Just touched down in London Town

Well, good news! I made it to London! After a very loooooooooong day of traveling, i'm finally here. I'm actually in LONDON! I still can't believe it. I think it might take some time to grasp such an amazing concept.
So besides the fact that we are all exhausted from a long day of travel, pretty much right after we arrived our professor took us on a walk around the area. I would like to say that i saw many cool things and already learned loads of new stuff, but to be quite honest its all a blur. because 1. I am so tired that i'm delirious and 2. it was POURING rain! It was raining so hard i couldn't look straight ahead or else i'd get water in my eyes! But regardless, it was still great to get out and get a quick glimpse at what's to come the next two months! And even after just that, all i can say is... I CAN'T WAIT.

LEAVING: All packed and ready to go. Just minutes before leaving for the Airport!!!

ARRIVING: Standing outside 27 Palace Court a.k.a my new home for the next two months!!!
